LC and GA

Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is pleased to announce that Prince Feisal al-Hussein of Jordan, father of Omar Al-Feisal (Class of 2012), has graciously accepted our invitation to speak to the members of the Class of 2012 on June 2nd to celebrate their CH-CH accomplishments and provide some sage advice about the future awaiting all of us. As a current member of the International Olympic Committee, Prince Feisal has great perspective on the shifting world that we live in and the global challenges facing human collaboration.

Feisal bin Al-Hussein was born in October 1963, as the second son to His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal and HRH Princess Muna Al-Hussein (Former Miss Tony Gardiner). He attended Brown University in Providence, RI, where he obtained his bachelors (BSc) degree in electronic engineering (specializing in communications), graduating in 1985. Prince Feisal completed his Masters of Management in 1998 from the London Business School. During a long military career, Prince Feisal became a very accomplished pilot and held numerous leadership positions in the Jordanian Air Force. In 2004 Prince Feisal was promoted to his present rank of Lt. General and assumed responsibility of the Special Assistant to the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff.

More recently, Prince Feisal has been leveraging his interest in international sport, particularly through his various leadership roles of the Pan Arab Games, Arab Games for Schools, Jordanian Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, and the International Olympic Committee’s Women & Sport Commission. In 2010, Prince Feisal was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee where he currently serves on the Entourage Commission.
