Advisor Program
“That’s my advisee,” you’ll often hear teachers say proudly to one another when a student is acknowledged for an art project, for making the honor roll, or for scoring a goal. Faculty advisors take great pride in the growth of their advisees.

The advisor is a student’s advocate, mentor, resource and role model. Students are matched with advisors from their grade level, so the advisor is in close contact with both the student and the student’s teachers. Meetings take place formally once a week, but advisors often check in informally over lunch, walking between classes, or in the dormitory. In formal meetings they go over weekly reports, which summarize the quality of the student’s work in every subject, and note achievements and areas that need attention. This close relationship makes it easy for the advisor to keep parents up-to-date on the progress of the student.
