How to Apply
For students looking to enter our 9th grade, we recommend they begin the application process in September of their 8th grade year.

Those students who are looking to enter the 10th, 11th or 12th grade, or students who are looking to join us in the middle of a year, are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office and begin the process as soon as they realize they are considering a change.  Transfer students are typically accepted on a ‘rolling admission’ basis and can only be admitted as space in the class allows.
Application Steps
The Admissions Office has created the following “Suggested Application Timeline” outlining the necessary and suggested steps of the admissions process. In addition to the steps involved, we have tried to indicate the time when each of the steps should happen.

1.Beginning in September: Students or their families should contact the Admissions Office to request information and an application packet.

2. September – January: Students should register for, and take, the SSAT exam. Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School will be hosting the SSAT exam on campus. To register for the exam, visit www.ssat.org. The test must be taken by the February 1st application deadline.

3. September – January: Students should try to attend an Open House on campus or spend a day at CH-CH attending classes with a current student. Check out the list of upcoming events on the side of this page.

4. September – January: Students and their parents should schedule an interview with a member of the Admissions Staff.

5. February 1st: Admission and financial aid application deadline. If students wish to be considered for admission and financial aid in the first round of decisions they must submit all of the application materials by this date.
