Job Description
The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking a creative, progressively minded, and hard-working individual to lead our English Department beginning in the 2023-24 school year. As a school that embraces Multiple Intelligences philosophy and differentiated instruction pedagogy, we seek a teacher leader who works diligently to reach all learners and believes, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.”
This position involves:

Supervision and leadership of the English Department (three full time faculty),

Serving on the School’s Curriculum Committee,

Teaching three classes with an average of 12 students per class, and

Participating in two seasons of our co-curricular program.

Prior teaching experience in English or writing

An academic background, and preferably a major, in English, writing and/or literature

Prior supervisory experiences valued but not required
