Visual Arts Teacher (Parental leave position)

Job Description

The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking a creative, progressively minded, and hard-working individual to teach Visual Arts from November 6th, 2023 through March 1st, 2024.  As a school that embraces Multiple Intelligences philosophy, we seek teachers who work diligently to reach all learners and believe, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.”  This position will consist of teaching four courses (including Ceramics, Sculpture, & Advanced 2D and 3D Art) and working with the 10th grade team. 

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • A creative and progressive approach to teaching and learning
  • Willingness to work hard and have fun
  • Prior teaching experience in visual arts, preferably in ceramics and/or sculpture
  • Working knowledge three dimensional art making tools, including the pottery wheel and operating an electric kiln
  • An academic background, and preferably a major, in visual arts
