Dan Strachman, ‘89

A talent for writing and an aptitude in finance have combined to create a varied and interesting career for Dan Strachman, ’89.  Following his graduation from CH-CH, Dan attended Clark University where he majored in Journalism.  A career blending writing with finance soon followed.
A professional in the investment management industry, Dan has worked in hedge fund structuring and mutual fund product development.  In addition, he is the author of nine books on hedge funds and investment strategy, and is a frequent contributor to the Boston Globe and the Financial Times.  Dan was also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University Business School where he taught graduate level courses on corporate finance and investment analysis.

Commenting on his varied career, Dan stressed the importance of the skills he gained while a student at CH-CH.  “I learned how to advocate for myself in the classroom and beyond, and became focused not only on my goals, but on the steps required to achieve them.”  He mentioned several former faculty members including history teacher Don Welch, math teacher Teresa O’Brien Corrigan, and former assistant dean of students Jon Rand as being particularly influential. A member of the CH-CH Board of Trustees and chair of the audit committee, Dan; his wife Felice, and their two children recently relocated from New Jersey to Parkland, Florida.

Dan is still connected to CH-CH as he is a current Board of Trustees member.
