Chargers Win IGC DII Girls Basketball Championship

Congratulations to the Girls’ Basketball team on winning the Independent Girls Conference DII Championship this winter! A group of solid returning players, along with talented newcomers, entered this season ready for redemption after getting knocked out of last year’s IGC Championship Tournament in the semi-finals by the Waring School. The Chargers hit the ground running this winter, defeating local rival Cambridge School of Weston and the Eagle Hill School to win the Charger Classic Basketball Tournament in December. The team carried this momentum through the season, finishing with an overall record of 9-8, and an IGC DII record of 6-2. The Chargers won the IGC DII Championship by defeating the Waring School 35-24.

We are so proud of the girls and their efforts this winter. Team work, dedication, and selflessness have always been tenants of our program, and when our dedication to these ideals pays off in the form of a championship, it's the ultimate reward. We owe a lot to our seniors this year- they have worked hard to improve throughout their careers, and it really showed this season.” - Coach Jacquie MacDonald

Congratulations, and GO CHARGERS!
