Co-Curricular Activities

Required After-School Activities

Each trimester students are required to participate in our afternoon co-curricular program, which offers a wide variety of activities that will develop teamwork, while helping students discover their passions. Two activities each year must be team activities.

#4 All About Fun

"Every Ultimate Frisbee game, I would just go out there and have fun. We were never really worried about winning, which in a sense, helped us win."

  • Athletics (team activity)

We offer a wide variety of sports at CH-CH. In the fall we offer Boys and Girls Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Golf and Cross Country. In the winter we offer Girls and Boys Basketball and Wrestling. In the spring we offer Softball, Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee and Boys and Girls Lacrosse. We are a member of the Massachusetts Bay Independent League (MBIL), Independent Girls Conference (IGC) and Eastern Independent League (EIL). For those who love sports but don’t want to be on the field, we have student-manager positions available for our teams. Go Chargers!
  • Drama (team activity)

The drama department puts on three productions a year, with a musical in the winter, and a play in the fall and spring. Auditions take place at the beginning of each term, and there’s a spot on the cast and crew for everyone. For those who prefer to work behind the scenes, the drama tech builds the sets, runs the lighting and sound, and does just about everything to keep the show running.

Examples of recent shows include: Chicago, Sound of Music, Alice in Wonderland, Dark and Stormy Night, and Cards on the Table. More information is available on our Drama page.
  • Communications and Media Interns

Do you love sports and photography? Then the Media Intern activity is for you! Take pictures of the sports games, school events, and student life. You then edit them, and then post your best shots on the CH-CH website. At the end of the trimester, the interns also create a slideshow that is shown at Athletics' Awards night.
  • Fitness

Fitness takes place on campus during the fall and winter terms and it’s all about staying active! After classes are finished, students will use the on-campus weight facility, or if weather permits, will partake in activities outdoors.
  • Rock Climbing (team activity)

In Rock Climbing, students learn basic knots, belaying techniques, and climbing skills on our high ropes course on campus before taking trips off campus to various local outdoor rock climbing locations. This activity challenges students to reach beyond their individual comfort-zone, while learning valuable interpersonal skills. This occurs in all three trimesters as a team activity.
