The Teaching Fellows Program at CH-CH

The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking creative, progressively minded, collaborative, and hard-working individuals to be a part of our Teaching Fellows Program. We seek candidates who are at the beginning of their teaching career and who want to be immersed in a creative and supportive teaching and learning environment and who want mentorship. As a school that embraces multiple intelligences philosophy and utilizes differentiated instruction pedagogy, we seek teachers who work diligently to reach all learners and believe, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.”

Teaching Fellows begin their commitment to the School in late August with both a Teaching Fellows and New Faculty orientation program. Teaching Fellows may also be required to attend workshops over the summer and throughout the school year.

A stipend is paid to Fellows on a twelve-month basis, including health and dental insurance, beginning in September and ending in June.

Teaching Fellows typically have the responsibility for teaching one course with the opportunity to do more. They are closely supervised by their Department Chair, 9-12th Grade Program Heads, Athletic and Dorm Directors, their peer teacher and Dean of Faculty. In order to enhance professional practice, weekly meetings are held with the Dean of Faculty during the fall trimester, biweekly during the winter trimester, and as needed during the spring trimester. We offer significant mentoring, evaluation, support and help securing a job post fellowship.

Some teaching fellowships evolve into increased teaching and other school related opportunities over the course of the year. All Teaching Fellows work three seasons in our Afterschool Program. Fellows live on campus and participate in our residential boarding program.

If you are interested in being considered for one of our fellowship positions, please send a cover letter, resume, and three references to:

We Teach the Way Students Learn

Chapel Hill - Chauncy Hall School is a small, coeducational college preparatory school dedicated to teaching the way students learn. Our faculty, over 70% of whom have advanced degrees, offers instruction tailored to individual learning styles and strengths, empowering our students to achieve their potential. Our multiple intelligences approach to teaching and learning both values and addresses the different ways students learn. Our curriculum challenges and engages students, with support seamlessly integrated into the classes and culture of the School. All our students are accepted into college or university with an emphasis on finding the best fit for their ambitions and interests. Diversity thrives in a social climate of acceptance. A dynamic mix of day and boarding students energizes our campus and creates opportunities for students to engage with each other in the arts, athletics, campus activities and community service. Our alumni/ae describe their experience at CH-CH as truly transformational. Our private, independent school is located ten miles from Boston.
