Varsity Boys Basketball get first win against ISB

Toby Powell
The Varsity boys recorded their first win of the season on Wednesday afternoon against a feisty team from the International School of Boston. Missing starting shooting guard, senior Nick Granaham, the boys started slowly and fell behind early on. ISB held the lead 17-15 at the end of the first half. The Chargers came out of the break with better intensity and focus. Leading the way was a break-out performance by senior forward, Steven Fu, whose defensive energy and rebounding helped turned the tide in favor of the Chargers. Fu made several key defensive plays and scored some timely points to help give the Chargers the edge. Deron Alford continued his scoring dominance, finishing with 16 points. It was an impressive second half performance by the Chargers and the whole team contributed to the win. The boys will look to build on this performance and gain their first league win on Friday against CSW.
