Welcome International Students and Families!
I am excited that you are here to learn more about attending Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. For over 190 years, CH-CH has been challenging and preparing students from around the world for higher education. Our beautiful campus offers a relaxing home for our students while still being one of the closest private boarding/day schools to the city of Boston. Our boarding program allows students to gain independence while taking part in all the educational and cultural experiences this amazing city has to offer. We have a kind, welcoming community that celebrates diversity, and through our partnership with Harvard University’s Making Caring Common initiative, we have become leaders in creating a nurturing environment for students.
Our international students hone their English language skills through immersion in the dormitories, academic classes, and co-curricular activities, as well as have the opportunity to receive support in our English Language Learner classes if they need it. All students work one-on-one with our talented and sought-after Director of College Counseling to discover and apply to best-fit colleges. Our impressive college matriculation list shows the success that these students find during this process.

Application
We offer early decisions to our international applicants. Once the virtual or on-campus interview, English proficiency test, and application: https://www.admission.org/services/standard-application-online-sao are completed, all materials will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. This allows families more time to obtain their Visa before they need to arrive on campus. -
English Proficiency Test Information
International students whose first language is not English are required to submit an english proficiency test result, along with their admissions application. For those students who are not able to take a TOEFL, we encourage them to take the Duolingo English Test. This exam takes approximately 45 minutes and $49, a fee paid directly to Duolingo.- To take the exam click here: https://englishtest.duolingo.com/applicants

International Student Financial Aid
We offer need-based aid and various scholarships to international students. Along with over 2,000 private schools nationwide, we partner with School and Student Services (SSS) by Community Brands in our financial aid process. Student Visas
International students who are neither US citizens nor permanent residents of the United States must obtain a F-1 student visa. Once a student is officially enrolled in CH-CH, the Admissions Office will maintain the student’s immigration status and visa. We will send the I-20 form and supporting documents directly to the family to present during their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy or consulate.

Our 42 acre campus is conveniently located 10 miles from Boston. Students can fly to Boston Logan International Airport and we can arrange for transportation through a school driver (depending on time of arrival) or a car service (costs may vary).There are many hotels in the area in Waltham, MA.

Recent International Student Webinar
At CH-CH, we offer a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors classes. We are empowering 21st century learners by providing opportunities beyond the classroom. Through Independent Studies with CH-CH faculty, college courses at local universities, and online classes, students are able to challenge themselves in areas that interest them.
Examples include: Calculus III, Programming, International Economics and Agriculture, AP Chemistry and Physics, AP Italian, Documentary Filmmaking, Digital Art and Animation, and Dance.

Tom Ho (Vietnam)
Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall was like a big family and will always have a special place in my heart. It prepared me for college, and it felt like home.
CH-CH offers English Language Learner (ELL) classes to help international students develop their English skills necessary to find success in school and beyond. International students will take all of their courses with other English native speakers, along with the ELL classes. These classes provide assistance with active reading, research techniques, written expression, vocabulary building, and class discussion strategies. We will assess each student to determine if a student needs these classes and the level of support.

We offer:- A broad offering of AP and Accelerated courses including AP Calculus, AP Environmental Science, AP English, and AP US Government and Politics
- One on one counseling with our Director of College Counseling, Brooke Fincke, Harvard University- Ed.M., Higher Education Administration
- College application boot camp the summer before 12th grade
- Representatives from colleges and universities nationwide visit our campus to meet with students

Our College Counselor works very closely to guide us through the whole college application process. Her goal is to help everyone to find a perfect fit university to fully develop everyone’s unique talents.
