What do you think about the Multiple Intelligences philosophy?
The MI/DI approach to teaching is great because it opens up your opportunities for trying out different things to see what works for each student. The nice thing about CH-CH and its supportive administration is the freedom to try new approaches to teaching dependent on those student needs.
How does your prior education/teaching experience lend itself to being a successful educator at CH-CH?
I spent three years at a school with a similar student body but a school that had a different approach to teaching. One of the things I like most about teaching here, is that because we are such a small school, you really get to work with everyone all of the time. Even conversations at lunch with other colleagues can lead to collaboration or inspiration alone.
As a CH-CH community member, you play a lot of roles. Which do you love most and why?
I enjoy the chance to work with this population of students; there is so much diversity in interests and backgrounds with our students that it makes teaching fun. We have athletes, actors, artists, and students who don’t fit into any one category. This is great for me as a teacher because I can find options for those students to access information that I’m teaching in my class based on their personal interests.
