Chapel Hill Utimate went on an adventure today, traveling into the heart of downtown Boston to play Commonwealth on their home turf. The team took the Red Line to Charles St/MGH where they walked over the footbridge and down river a pace or two to the Teddy Ebersol fields which are between Storrow Drive and the Charles River. The turf was lush (and full of goose scat). In the shadows of the downtown skyline, the two teams played hard in the driving rain which, at times, was slashing almost horizontally. The players were soaked before the game even started, but, in true Ultimate spirit, the teams played on. The disc was slippery and cleats didn't always grab, but the players managed to keep the game flowing. There were great plays on both team. Nick DiOrio was moving the disc nicely out of Commonwealth's zone cup. Peter Wang had several well placed throws deep. Sheldon Farnum was effective deep as always. Aaron Haynes moved up front more and got his hands on the offensive disc. Chapel Hill kept their man-to-man press and tallied 7 points to Commonwealth's 15, which only one other team has done this season. A fine effort by the Chargers. Sheldon, Aaron, Rob (Mullen), and Justin (Shen) scored for Chapel Hill. Nick, Sheldon, Aaron, and Peter earned assists for the team.
