Nate M.

Middle School: Carroll School

College: University of Vermont

Major: I decided to study Psychology. I’ve known Psych would be my major since I was a freshman. I want to give a helping hand to those who need it. Not only that but to help people see things about themselves that they wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

Co-curriculars at CH-CH: Theatre, Soccer, Lacrosse.
Favorite CH-CH memory: The winter musical my senior year, The Drowsy Chaperone. It’s about an old, lonely man who appreciates theatre and listens to a record about his favorite show, The Drowsy Chaperone. While listening, his memory of seeing it for the first time comes to life on the other side of the stage. The whole performance was a “nostalgia fest”, and I really enjoyed being a part of it.

Favorite thing to do on campus: Going to office hours. Why? Because you’re able to talk to the faculty members here. Not just about academics, but about anything! Everyone here cares so much and I really appreciated the great communication system on campus. Not a lot of high schools have a real-time Google Drive and email system set up, and CH-CH does, which makes all aspects of communication easy and accessible.

Also, I loved going to the school store. Janet, the school store manager, is awesome.

Advice to students: Explore. If you’re good at Lacrosse, try a different sport, audition for the musical, do rock climbing, join a club. There are so many opportunities and you will be able to find something you love. That’s what makes CH-CH so unique, you can succeed in anything, everyone is always included.

Also, do your work! If there is one quote I want to be remembered by, it’s “always do your work!”, take it from me. Early on, I procrastinated and didn’t do an assignment and the snowball effect occurred.

Describe the CH-CH community in one word: Inspirational
Located 10 miles from Boston, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall (CH-CH) is a private, college preparatory day and boarding school for grades 8-12/PG. CH-CH cultivates intellectual courage, creative ambition, and unwavering empathy that drives students to achieve their best.
