Cheyenne B.
College: Wheaton College
Major: My main focus is to become a playwright, so I’ve decided to double major in Creative Writing and Theater with a minor in Psychology. I love being able to create new characters and develop their backgrounds. After college, I want to start my own theatre company that will teach kids about acting and writing. I’ll also continue to write plays, and I really want to win a Tony Award one day!
Co-curriculars at CH-CH: Theater and Volleyball.
Favorite CH-CH Memory: I was on the cast for Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play at CH-CH, and on my application, I mentioned that I had trouble projecting my voice. The play’s Director, Mr. Spencer, saw this and told me that I had four roles where I had to yell! In rehearsals, I kept hearing, “Cheyenne, louder!”. On the night of the production, I saw my family and teachers in the audience, and I just let it go. I yelled my line so loud, and got everyone to laugh. Seeing the audience’s reaction to my words gave me an immediate burst of confidence.
Teachers that Made an Impact on Me:
Ms. Lacoste, the Theatre Director, has continued to invite me to come back to work with students in theatre. She has continued to help me after graduating as well. Recently, she helped me structure my theatre resume.
Mr. MacPhail, was an amazing Psychology teacher. I’ve kept in contact with him since graduating and will email Psychology questions. I loved having him as a teacher, and because of his class, I’m working on a Psychology minor.
Describe the CH-CH Community: Everyone is helpful at CH-CH. Upperclassmen would give me directions on where I needed to go, and all the teachers knew us and our personalities. The teachers at CH-CH are dedicated to their job and it’s incredible.
Advice to Students: Always be weird, because normal is boring. This is something I learned, and I’m still working on now. This was also my senior quote!
Describe the CH-CH community in one word: Proactive.
