Skills and Academic Support Teacher
Education: St. Joseph's College - B.S., Elementary Education
Lesley University - M.Ed., Students with Moderate Disabilities

“I believe every child is smart, has potential, and is reactive to things that have happened in their lives. Our job, as educators, is to support our students in breaking down the walls that prevent them from being successful, guide them to make smart choices, and cheer them on every step of the way.”
How does your job impact the students?
Working in the SAS department allows me to create meaningful and lasting relationships with students. Often, students and I talk about the "whys", "what ifs" and "hows" of their academic and social experiences at CH-CH. I'm happy to be a supportive, positive influence for them as they navigate their years here at CH-CH.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe every child is smart, has potential, and is reactive to things that have happened in their lives. Our job, as educators, is to support our students in breaking down the walls that prevent them from being successful, guide them to make smart choices, and cheer them on every step of the way. Every student that crosses into my classroom will feel heard, respected, and confident by the end of our class time. I want students and parents to understand that learning is a process that requires teamwork and I am always going to be on their team.

Why are you passionate about teaching?
I got into teaching because I wanted to be someone I wish that I had when I was younger. I wish I had a trusted adult, someone who would give me constructive and solution-oriented feedback while talking through some of the academic and social challenges I faced daily in high school. I strive to be that sounding board for our students.
