CH-CH Unveils the Charger Café

On Friday, September 11th, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall celebrated the opening of the newly redesigned dining hall, the Charger Café. Located in Harrington Hall, the dining hall has always been a popular location for students. With the opening of the Charger Café, students will have a bright, comfortable and inviting space to use throughout the day. In addition to serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the newly designed space includes expanded seating areas, and a fresh fruit station that will be available all day.

“It’s exciting to see the Charger Café come to life as a place for students, faculty and staff to socialize, share ideas and collaborate,” said Head of School, Lance Conrad. “It’s a bright space with a lot of energy, and it’s going to continue to add to our community’s experience here on campus.”

The excitement among students was clear during Friday’s grand opening:

“The new look is amazing,” said Aria Rodney '17. “I knew it would look amazing, and it does!”

Along with the new space, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall is also excited to welcome Flik Independent School Dining as their new dining service provider. Flik’s meals are created from scratch, featuring local and sustainable items.

“Creating the Charger Café has been fun and exciting for both the staff and the students,” said Brian Babin the Chef Manager, “And students have been raving about the food, which we absolutely love to hear!”
