The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking a creative, progressively minded, and hard-working individual to teach in our History Department for the 2025-26 school year. As a school that embraces Multiple Intelligences philosophy, we seek teachers who work diligently to reach all learners and believe, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.” This position involves teaching three sections of World Civilizations II and a senior elective with an average of 12 students per class.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
A creative and progressive approach to teaching and learning
Willingness to work hard and have fun
A commitment to differentiated instruction pedagogy
A working understanding of Multiple Intelligences philosophy
An inclination toward interdisciplinary work
Ability & inclination to actively support the School’s work in diversity, equity, and inclusion
Prior teaching experience in history or social sciences
An academic background, and preferably a major, in history
Coaching or theater experience, particularly in technical theater or soccer
