Congratulations to Jae Yun Lee, a senior at Chapel Hill – Chauncy Hall School, who is believed to be the leading scorer in New England boys' prep school soccer this year. He tallied 27 goals this fall season for the Chargers.
During his four year playing career at CH-CH, Lee has achieved the highest number of goals scored in the history of boys soccer at CH-CH. He will graduate with 93 career points (75 goals and 18 assists). In addition, Lee has been the leading point earner in the Eastern Independent League for the last three years. As a junior, he was selected to the Mass All-State Team by the Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association – and he is expected to earn a slot again this year.
Lee, who is Korean by birth but grew up in Spain, started playing at age five. Soccer has always been a thread that connects all the places Lee has lived. As he works through his senior year, Lee is being considered by Division 1 schools for next year, and it is still to be determined where his next "home away from home" will be.
Over his four years at CH-CH, Jae Lee has exhibited technical and tactical improvement on the soccer field. Coach Bret Thibault notes, “He is the best striker I have ever seen. The growth he has shown both on and off the field convinces me he will continue to be successful.”
