The CHCH Girls Lacrosse team proved their mettle yesterday against a strong Concord Academy team. The game was back and forth from start to finish, with both teams trading goals and no one ever leading by more than two. We had outstanding performances from so many players; we had freshmen stepping up on defense and in the midfield, and senior/junior leaders as the spine of our team. It was our goalie, however, who really shone at the end of the game, stopping shot after shot to keep it close. Though CA was clearly frustrated for most of the game by their inability to pull away, they were able to grab a two-goal lead with a few minutes left, and held on for the win. Although we lost, the skill and determination with which we played to keep it close against one of the best teams we have faced this season is a measure of how much we have improved and grown as a team. The CHCH players were visibly upset after the game, but they cheered up quite a bit when their coaches told them they would get another chance at Concord, only this time at home!
