On Saturday morning the boys team gathered in the North Hall parking lot at 1030 am for the long drive down to Rhode Island to face the former league champs Portsmouth Abbey. Going into the game the team knew this would be the toughest competitor of the season and that it was a great game to showcase our defensive skills. That is exactly what happened we spent the majority of the game playing defense against a very well coached and seasoned team. Our starting goalie for the game, Nate, had a tremendous game in between the pipes managing to grab up about 13 saves and only allowed 12 goals versus the starting PA attack. Jason finished the game in net for us and only allowed 4 more goals for the entire game.
Mr Thibault and I were very impressed with our four long sticks Igor Reis, Ian Doig, Sean Mulvehill, and James Kim, each one of them got to cover some great lacrosse players and did a wonderful job. Our goals were scored by Henry and Sam on the attacking end and Igor Reis also had a goal that was called back after an late offsides call. We may have lost this game 16-3 but despite the score it was an awesome learning experience for us and PA never stopped shooting. This game was a great start to our EIL match-ups!
