The CHCH golfers broke a long winless streak and beat Brimmer and May handily yesterday at Putterham, posting a decisive 4 1/2 - 1 1/2 win. The Chargers went into the game hoping to avenge the girl's soccer team's Monday loss to Brimmer, and this motivation seemed to carry them over the top for the first win over Brimmer since the Manin-Atwood era of 2005-6. The team was led by number one Nate Friedman, who missed a hole in one by six inches on the 12th hole, and birdied the hole on his way to an easy two up victory in his last regular season match at CHCH. Number three Peter Loar posted his first points of the season with a dramatic tie. He came back from two down with two to play and sealed the tie with a par in the near total darkness on the ninth hole at 6:10pm. Number four Peter Wang, number five Tim Noonan, and number six Will Fitzgerald also posted wins for the Chargers. It was a great day for CHCH golf, and it made all the long days and nights the team shared late in the season worthwhile. Congratulations go out to the entire team for a great win!
