Luke DiOrio ’10 debuts his professional career as a member of the Rhode Island Rampage!

When not in class studying sociology as a junior at the University of Hartford, Luke DiOrio ’10 continues to indulge his passion for Ultimate Frisbee, a sport he learned to love at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School. Luke is a member of the Rhode Island Rampage, a team in the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL).

“Playing Frisbee at CH-CH was my breakthrough into the Ultimate scene. I remember looking at the sports offerings the summer before my freshman year at CH-CH and asking, ‘Dad, what’s Ultimate Frisbee?’ He didn’t know either, but encouraged me to give it a try. Little did I know I would fall madly in love with this sport!”

“Coach (Steven) Christenson made me the player that I am today. Coach C. is one of those coaches I’ll remember for the rest of my life, not just because of how well he coached, but because of what an amazing guy he is. He always pushed me to be the best I could be; he’ll always be a role model for me, and I credit him for much of the success I have had as an Ultimate player and as a person.”

With Ultimate growing in popularity, Disc or Die, the unofficial name of the CH-CH team, continues to attract fans. Make plans to support our team and learn more about this exciting sport by joining our community at an upcoming game in the spring!
