The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking a collaborative and hard-working individual to serve as the Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director. As a school that embraces Multiple Intelligences philosophy and utilizes differentiated instruction pedagogy, we seek an athletic trainer who works diligently to reach all student-athletes and believes, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.” The Athletic Trainer/Assistant Athletic Director will work closely with our student-athletes, coaches, nurse, and parents. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Communication with parents, guardians, medical professionals, coaches, and residential staff regarding the student-athlete’s injury and overall health

Coverage of all home athletic events (including limited weekends)

Oversee pre-participation and return from injury clearance, including pre-season concussion baseline testing

Maintaining accurate records

Maintaining athletic team uniforms and protective equipment

Oversight of the Fitness Center in conjunction with the Athletic Director

Potentially teaching one class in the Science Department (Anatomy & Physiology or Personal & Global Health) and/or teaching in our Health & Wellness program
